Owner and visionary,
Shelley is an Engineering Specialist at General Dynamics and has been a local businesswoman in the coastal Connecticut area since 1994. Her business pursuits have included the creation of the Deacon Timothy Pratt Bed & Breakfast in Old Saybrook and 3 Liberty Green Bed & Breakfast in Clinton. She also operated the James Gallery & Soda Fountain which was founded by local artist Yves Parent at the current location of James Farmacy Organic Cafe.
With her entrepreneurial spirit and love of history and old homes, she is pursuing her latest passion – clean, green, organic living. Her plans for James Farmacy stem from seeing the benefits of healthy diet and lifestyle choices in her own life, and from the practice of learning all she can about the benefits of healing plants and herbs and a whole-food, plant based, nutrient-dense diet. Shelley wishes to share with others all that she has learned and benefited from on her path to wellness. With James Farmacy Organic Café, she wishes to provide the community with healthy, organic dine-in or take-out options that are mindfully sourced to ensure the freshest, cleanest, most nutrient-dense foods possible.
She is excited to bring James Pharmacy back to life in the spirit of its original founder, Miss Anna Louise James, with a “Food is Medicine” approach.
